I have a Roadster 2x12 combo and would like to change the power tubes from 6L6's to EL34's......my question is what is the difference between the EL34L's and the EL34B's, and are they both safe to put in the Roadster?

I want to change the power tubes because i find that the 6L6's are too "boomy" in the low end range and I really want to tighten up the low end sound.

Thanks

They are both safe as long as they are within the Boogie bias range. For me I liked the JJEL34L a bit better than the "B's" when I get to open the amp up a bit. Not as compressed as a regular EL34, but still has bite and they don't seem to chop off the bass like some El's do in the Recto I did go ahead and re tube my Recto with some Mesa El's and they do sound a lot harsher than the previous El34L's that I had in. Just waiting to see if they mellow out a bit before spending even more money that I don't have.
