Roadster: Bold & Spongy Question

Hi

I am ordering a RS soon and wonder what you guys who have them think of the Spongy setting? i like kinda sagging vintagy feeling cleans and overdrives, what do you guys think of it?

I LOVE the Spongy setting. I only have it on bold if I am using an EMG equipped guitar.

I rarely use this setting...Not that it's bad or anything, but for the style I play, the Bold setting suits me best...Your style will partially dictate which setting to use, but that's whats great about Mesa, they give you the option...Mesa rules!

I've never played around with the spongy setting. I must have a better look at it as it could be interesting.

solid state and spongy is the second hottest setting on the Mesa. solid state and bold is the hottest.

Spongy with EL34's is my favorite. Probably the closest to the old Plexi's that I can dial in.

Ditto. I recently discovered the 'spongy' setting while trying to learn VH tunes.

I'm in Daxman's playpen, using mainly the bold setting.
However, when my friends talk about the spongy setting, they tend to get this weird 'someone just spiked my drink' look about them... In a good way. :wink:
I'd at least give it a try.
