I haven't visited this board in a long time, but I've noticed two things:

The Mark V gas has died down considerably.
And the popularity of the Roadster seems to be as steady as ever.

Which is very coincidental to my own experience with my 2 year old Roadster. The amp continues to surprise me a lot. The tonal quality and versatility of the amp are truly its highest selling points. The Roadster has been everything it been advertised to be. I have not been let down and I really don't think there is a more versatile, better bang for your buck amp out there in the same price range. My hats off to Mesa.

This isn't so much of a thread as much as it is my way of generally saying to the others who are pleased with the performance of their Roadster -- I too, am very happy. Heck, I even went back to 6L6s and truly enjoy them more than ever!

Anyone else love the book setting called "Atlantic Blues." That setting is very, very musical and is the such a balance of gain and clean tone. It sounds so "big!"

Anyhoo, just thought I'd share what's on my mind. Also, the Celtics are done, aren't they? :(

I'm still in love with my Roadster after almost three years. It still gives me everything I need and more.
I will begin experimenting with different tubes soon. The Mesa tubes sounds good but I think it's time to
try something new.

I've owned my Roadster for about a month now (2x12 combo) and everyday I love it more and more. I had a rough time deciding between buying it or the Mark V but obviously went with the Roadster. I still want the Mark V though and to run them in stereo. Mesa did not disappoint me with the Roadster ('cept for the reverb that doesn't work) ANd I have seen a lot of people who prefer the EL34's in their Roadsters, but I really like the 6l6's.

I still keep finding sounds in my Roadster that are just completely original, not modelled on anything or 'soundalikes' but genuinely unique but great, usable tones.

I then get used to these sounds, zero the controls and start from scratch and end up in a totally new zone of tone.

I just love it. Friend of mine's trying to convince me to sell it for a JSX.

Not likely...

I hope your friend is joking. That being said, I would recommend everyone to just buy all the amp that you like if you can...

IDK about the gas dying down on the Mark V. Have you seen all the artist switching over to them?

My first choice was the roadster 2/12 combo until I tried to pick it up.....103lbs....Thats why I went with a V. But the roadster is a killer of an amp.

Yeah, the Roadster is stupid heavy. That's why it just sits in my practice spot.

I still love mine. There have been times I've considered selling it and buying a Mark V to get some tighter rythm tones and more liquidy leads but then I sit down with it and dial in a new sound I'm crazy about. I'm still gasing for a Mark V but the Roadster isn't going anywhere.
