Road King Series I foot controllers used with series II

I beleive that the RK 1 and the first version of the RK II are the same.
I owned the RK I ( Gone) and II which uses a 5 pin DIN cable. The RK II version 2 uses an 8 pin DIN and has the Mute function so I doubt it would work.

I have both version II and II v.2 Road Kings right now.
