All,

I just retubed my Road King 2 with all new Mesa Tubes. I notice now that when switching from channel 2 to channel 1 it pops more than it used to and it its pitch is very low. It sounds especially bad with delay (it repeats). I have also noticed that engaging the fx loop pops a little more than it ever used to.

In FX loop one is an Eventide Modfactor and Pictchfactor. In FX loop 2 there is an Eventide Time factor. Before the amp is a Fulltone Clyde Deluxe Wah -> TU-2 Tuner -> Fulltone GT500 -> amp input. Everything is powered from either its own walwart (all the eventide fxs) or from a Voodoo Labs Pedal Power. So I don't think it is a ground loop issue.

Any thoughts?

I also have the Road King II. Mine also pops, only it will sometimes pop on Channel 3, when I go to channel 3 from channel one, but mine will only do it once, should I forget to do what I do to prevent that.

This trick was taught to me by the guy that recorded my band:

To help prevent that pop, turn your amp on stand by, and run through all your buttons once or twice, just change all the channels a few times and push the reverb/tuner mute(my tuner mute will sometimes pop too), loops 1 and 2 and solo on and off, and that should help prevent the popping.

As far as completely stopping it, like if it were an electrical problem, I have no idea.
