Road King 4x12

What the best way to hook a RK 4x12 to a RK II head? I tried using the mono 4 ohm jack but sound only comes out of the open back side. Would it be alright to use both 8 ohm jacks to the heads A and B 8 ohm jacks?

This is just me on my recto (i'm assuming it's the same as a RK), but I'm setup like either:

2 4x12's
(cable 1) 8 ohm jack on cab to 4 ohm jack on head
(cable 2) 8 ohm jack on cab to 4 ohm jack on head

or

1 4x12
8 ohm jack on cab to 8 ohm jack on head

There are other ways to do it (cabs in series, etc) shown in the manual.

The road king has 3 inputs, one 4 ohm mono input and two 8 ohm inputs.
I ended up running both 8 ohm inputs to my heads A and B 8 ohm iputs so i can mix and match which side of the cab each channel gets or both. But when i plug into the 4 ohm mono jack i only get sound out of the semi open side.
