Today I got out my RKII and hooked up to my cab and fired her up.......Nothing. Looked in the back and noticed I had the speaker cable in B section instead of the A. Plugged it back in the A. And now I only hear a vary faint cackle. I double checked and rechecked all my settings made sure the channels were assigned to A. Checked the fuse, swapped cords, cabs. etc etc. My thoughts are the tranny. :(

Hrm... Check the tubes, swap them all out for known good ones. Then replace V5 12ax7 with a good chinese tube (don't use russian they don't like to be in cathode follower positions). If you don't have a spare set of tubes (the whole power section and at least 3 12ax7's) go out and buy them now.

I had v5 blow in my amp with the exact same results as you (could only hear a very faint very distorted signal in each channel). I replaced it and it came back to life. V3 and v5 in the roadster/roadking are cathode follower positions therefore, only use chinese tubes in there. You won't ruin anything but the amp will sound like turd and you'll get major volume fluctuations. The russian and chinese tubes are clearly marked.
