Riddle me this (4x12 puzzle)

So I've been researching the differences between the Standard and Traditional 4x12 cabs. I own the standard that I use with my MK V but like the sound of the traditional too. There are pro's and cons to both. So here's the million dollar question..........there is only 2 1/8' difference in height and 1/4' in width. Depth is the same yet they definitely sound different. Is the interior construction different. I am surprised at the tonal difference when the speakers are the same :roll:

Any explanations?
