Today i started up my DRG IIC+ and something seemed off. Kind of a bit boomier than usual. Anyways, i turned the reverb knob and it seems that reverb knobs adds to volume of the amp, when its at 10 the amp is much louder (reverb works, but the whole volume changes when reverb is increased). My HRG doesnt do this, so its definitely strange.. I didnt do the reverb fix, soldering the 2 reverb jacks, but i put aligator clips connecting them, just to test, and nothing changed.

may be of help..
fiddling with my "new" IIB, rev plugs not secure in the sockets underneath, rev barely perceptible BUT rev pot acting like a gain.
After checking plugs and inserted them securely, rev much better level AND rev pot stopped acting like a gain.
Give it a try,, Dave

The ground on the chassis or reverb tank is bad. Either clean them up or do the one wire mod.
I checked plugs, and it seems that the issue was the contact. It works now that i wiggled them a bit, but I will clean the jacks with Deoxit this week and ill do the cable mod as well.

Reverb is quite faint on the IIC+ tough.. im not sure if i should do the reverb mod myself (adding the resistor). I tend to stay away from high voltage working areas ;)

It's not a high voltage mod. Likely no more than a few hundred millivolts.
For an increase you can start with a 3.3K, for "surf" reverb you can go as high as
15K. A new or seriously cleaned reverb tank may help as well.

I'll try 3.3k.

Also i found interesting thing. First i thought the reverb issue was fixed after i cleaned connections and added connected 2 jacks with bus wire. However, after i turned the Lead Master knob past 5 with bright on, i started getting whining noise from the amp. I narrowed it down to the effects loop. What happened is that i have a delay pedal in effects loop and few pedal in front. I used the same power supply for all of them. And when reverb is connected, i get whining noise when Lead Master is increased. Removing the delay pedal from the power supply daisy chain fixes the issue. So there is some ground loop there.

Ill open it up and check around to see if anything is touching.

Strange thing is that my HRG head has no issue with the setup at all.

Whining with the bright switch engages and volume over 5 may be a microphonic preamp tube in the V1, V3, V4 or even pushing the V2 for the loop.
I checked tubes before, and they seemed fine. I found a thread online mentioning similar symptoms, and the remedy was to replace the black washer behind the input jack. This washer was all rusted and once replaced the noise was gone! So weird..
