It's gonna cost me a fortune to re-tube, so I would like to make the right choice here. I've been looking at JJ's that are comparable to what I have in my amp now. I can get a retube kit for about $312 +/-. I would like to try somthing other than Mesa tubes, just for something different, but with the cost factor, it's not like I can just get a different set of tubes if I don't like these ones without investing a load of $$$. I play mainly metal and blues, so I'm looking for something that can produce some crunch but still have some warmth to it. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I would try www.dougstubes.com they are very, very knowledgeable when it comes to what tubes to use for whatever amp you have. You can even chat online and get some quick answers that way...

Thanks for the heads up. After doing some searching and comparing, seems like Dougs tubes was quite a bit cheaper than who I was going to buy from previously. For basically the same tubes.

Cheers
