im ordering from doug tomorrow i know he prolly knows what i need for my style witch is speed deth type stuff, just wondering what you all think of my power tube choice, and i dont care how the clean channel will sound ,i never use it,,also any thought on what preamps to use???OHHH **** BY THE WAY IM GOING TO USE 6L6 :p

I love my NOS JAN Phillips 7581A's in my '94. I play thrash/oldschool speed metal and it stays tight and focused. The GE is a great tube by the opinion of many here. The Svetlana I haven't heard as much about. The SED =C= is supposed to be a great tube too.

OHHH YEAH!.i forgot im thinking of the winged c,,,not new sensor,,,i have the mesa454s in my triple and lovem,,cooool that sounds what i want,i hope doug still haves them in stock,i def. want it to be tight!!!!any idea on an awsome preamp set??

That really depends upon the flavor you want. I have JJ 12ax7's across the board in my '94. I don't mind the darkness of the tube because I want the gain that they give. A Tung-Sol might be a better V1 if you like to play anything else. Tung-sol would be a little unnecessary in V2-V5. C9's aren't too bad for supporting tubes either V2-V5. I wouldn't use one for V1 though. A Mullard Reissue would be a nice option for V1 but it doesn't sound like you would benefit much from it because it is a rounder sounding tube. Mullards in the rest of the V2-V5 supporting tube roles aren't really worth it. EH can be too bright and Ei can be too. Those two tend to get microphonic anyway.

i have jj el34ls in my tsl100 with the highgain preamps across the board to ,but i let my brother use it now since i have 2 rectos ,and its been awhile since i heard them plus they are in a marshall so it prolly wouldnt matter if i did have them side by side, so to it seems to be theee set up for killer tight metal in a recto??i know there are other things to consider,so heres what i got if this can help you determine what i should use for speed deth style. 88carvin v220 with emg81 bridge ...94jackson soloist same pups.92rec 97trip.rec 92intelifex, jcm900 4v30s jcm900 4greenbacks .soon to be replaced with v30s or ev"s200watters!george l's cabeles....im sick of burning through greenbacks that why im thinking the ev200s....sooo tell what you think,,,,again i forget to mention i use the trip and dual together with a framptone 3 banger ,sooo yeah thats it till i have to decide witch boos is going to stay!!! useing a keely modded ts9 but am looking to the bb preamp or homebrew stuff,,,man im never happpy

The TSL will certainly sound good with JJ's because it is bright anyway. The thought of EL-34's in a Rec can be good and bad. It just depends on what you want. I think that the 6L6's and variants tend to stay tighter and cleaner giving you better performance than the EL-34 types. EL-34's like to mush up. You might try 415's or 420's. The 415 lasts forever and sounds good. The 420 is a great sounding tube also. GT 6L6GE is probably one of the best production 6L6's out there right now. Guys love them in the Mark IV which is nothing but tight.

Your gear seleciton looks pretty good. I loved my Jackson until I went fixed bridge/set neck. That was a really fast guitar. I now play Gibsons. They are just more comfortable for me now though I have been eyeballing some nice shredders. I too had an Intellifex until I dumped my rack. That is choice if you don't want to go TC Electronics. The V30's in Marshall cabs are a nice choice too. You might try the Mesa Traditional cab. It has V30's and sounds killer. Talk about tight... EVM's are great speakers. I love them with my Mark IV. I love my Thiele with my DR too though. If you like G/B's but are blowing them up try the 65's. They sound good and handle wattage better like the V30.
