I recently bought a mint blue line Mark III combo. It's my first Mesa Mark amp, and it sounds really cool. It does however have a rather nasty rattle inside, that sounds like it's coming from around the fan in the lower right of the amp. I tried to take the back panel off and it seems to be attached to the fan somehow. The screws from the outside loosened it and freed it from the left (from the back) side, but it still stays attached on the right and wiggles the fan if I pull a little.

Is there some secret that I'm missing?

Is the fan a likely cause of the rattle?

Thanks,

That is what it sounds like when the center fan housing rubs the inside motor. You can pull the fan apart and lube it with dielectric grease and it should last for years.

The fan has one screw on the left front that is screwed into the back panel on an L bracket.
