I have owned both in the past year. I have owned two Rectoverbs and I have my latest one on eBay. I'm only selling to pay for my Mark V which sounds amazing. Anyway, they are really two very different amps. The Stiletto is bright and tight, and the Rectoverb is loose, big, and full. They are both pretty 'rude' amps if not dialed in carefully. If you lean toward crunchy Marshall type tones then you'll love the Stiletto. If you like thick, saturated rhythms and fender cleans then you'll love the Rectoverb. They are both very versatile and sound great. They can both pull off blues to metal, but the Stiletto is more '80s hair metal and the Rectoverb is more modern metal. They both have bluesy tones in them, but the Stiletto is probably a little better at it given the lower headroom from the EL34s. I prefer the Rectoverb over the Stiletto because it's not as bright and harsh and hard to dial in. A Rectoverb with an OD in front is the best I've heard it sound. It really tightens it up tremendously. The choice is yours!
