like the title says. if anyone is seriously interested I'd be happy to take some pics. One leather corner was nicked while it was still at Guitar Center but that's basically it as far as cosmetic flaws. I have relatively new Groove Tubes SED 6L6s as well as a 12AX7C and 12AX7M in the preamp. I'll throw in a set of JJ KT77s as well. Oh yeah, slip cover is included too.

Great amp but I'm leaning more towards a vintage tone nowadays. I'm asking only fair market value for this amp - $800. I'm located in Maryland, inbetween Baltimore and Washington DC.

Shoot me a message if you're interested.

thanks![/b]

New Year's bump 8)

$800 takes her home and you're still covered by Mesa for 3 years

If you don't live in DC/MD/VA/southern PA, plan on ~$40-$50 to ship.

How does this differ from an F-50? My F-50 is the only Boogie I have ever played. Curious what it sounds like. Thanks!

Both amps are 50W with a pair of 6L6s so the power sections are very similar, but the preamp section of a Single Rectifier/Rectoverb and an F50 are completely different. It's hard to describe the tone exactly but it's like a Dual Rectifer thats a little smoother and with a richer clean channel (you've at least listened to a Dual Rec before I'm sure). Lots of gain on tap (plenty for modern metal) but is slightly less in-your-face than a Dual Rec.

You can swap in EL34 tubes which is definitely a plus, since that gives you access to a wider variety of tones than the F50.

Guess it depends on what you're looking for. Both amps can do crystal clean or heavy overdrive but their "sweet spots" are different. I think the F50 excels at clean, blues type overdrive, and classic rock but is not as good for high gain rock. The Rectoverb exels at classic rock crunch (esp. with EL34s), hard rock, and metal. The cleans are good, but not as Fender-ish as the F50.

that help?

Yeah, thanks. Sounds like this amp would be a better fit (sometimes) for what I need it for. I paid $900 for my F-50 in June, 2006.

Our cover band plays Green Day, Audioslave, Bowling For Soup all the way to 70's, 80's, 90's rock.

I wish the F-50 had the option for EL84's. I live where there are no Mesa dealers anywhere around me :(

As far as the different modes on the 2 channels, do you really hear a difference when switching between them and are they pretty accurate in their descriptions?

If I had an extra $800 laying around I'd be tempted but I would need to sell my F-50 first. The problem being I've never heard a Rectoverb before so that makes it difficult. Thanks for your time!

the modes are definitely different. you'll need to readjust the volume and EQ slightly for each mode because they're structured differently.
