Hello, new to the board here. I was looking for information and found almost all that I needed but one thing has me a bit confused. I replaced my mesa power tubes in my rectoverb with some matched ruby 6L6's while a bad pot was being replaced under warranty. the tech left me a note saying he biased em up for me at no charge. I was under the assumption that rectoverbs were cathode bias and had to have a mod to bias them via bias trim pot. I am looking to replace the tube set with a full retube from dougs but I dont know if Im going to need a rebias or if that is fixed. The tech that did the warranty work is on vacation for 2 weeks so
I cant even ask him what he did. and ideas? :D

Your ROV is a non-adjustable fixed bias output section.

You are correct, you would need to mod it with a trim pot to adjust the bias voltage.

I would call-out the tech on this one, just to let him know that you are not an uneducated consumer that can easily be taken advantage of in future transactions.

It's also strange that while performing a warrenty repair, the tech would install non-Mesa tubes that could potentially void your warrenty

Once I had him straightend out, I would sarcasticly thank him for not charging me for something he did not do  , but that is just me.
