I am completely addicted to Vintage Mode/10W cranked to around noon. It is now officially my all time favorite Mesa sound. Go try it out if you haven't already.

I am waiting for mine to be built. I can't wait to see how that sounds, from some videos it seems to be old school metal, or some pretty heavy rock tones, which would be great.

ROV25 is an awesome amp! I have the rackmount version and it is amazing! I boost mine with a Mesa tone burst pedal! Really works well with this amp. Love the vintage mode as well!

Another one of it's secrets is Ch1 25W in Pushed mode with the gain knob pegged. The Rectoverb combo has some new and very cool Mesa sounds.

When you get your amp, try this. It's great with the Mini Rec; should be similar with the ROV.

Set it to CLEAN, 10W or 25W, doesn't really matter. Dime the gain and the master. EQ to taste, but bass less than noon, treble and mids in the noon - 3 o'clock range. Play. If you ride the guitar volume a lot and/or play with a lot of picking dynamics, this configuration is super "touch sensitive" - cleans up amazingly well and yields a very open, uncompressed OD suitable for just about anything but metal.

Agreed! Sounds great!

I will say that while the new speaker and open back cab lend a new character to these sounds, Ch2 Modern isn't quite right without a closed back cab. It'd be cool to be able to A/B cabinets for that purpose.

Run it to an external cab and test it out.

^Hoping to get some feedback from somebody who has plugged it in to the Theile cab..

So I jammed with the boys Saturday, had to compete with a B3/rotor cab, Rhodes/twin, a Boogie bass stack, and a loud drummer in a large rehearsal space. Had zero issues being heard, and in fact had to turn down Ch.2 a little in 10W mode to avoid raising eyebrows. The drummer actually commented on the amp's tone a couple different times!

Has anyone plugged an RV 25 into a 1x12 closed back Mesa cab yet? Looking for some feedback, hopefully on the Thiele cab or the narrow Recto 1x12. Seriously considering A/B-ing cabs for different sounds using this:

Yes sir!
I just purchased the 1x12 recto cab (the one that they made for the mini rec heads)
I am loving the combo of the V30 speaker in the cab and the Filmore speaker in the combo.
I would highly recommend this set up.

I do believe it takes a while but the Filmore seems to be breaking in nicely for me. At first I wasn't too excited about it.
But now it sounds better on its own and even better when I run both cabs. Now I have some real flexability with my rig. Grab and go with the combo when we are an opening act, or taking both cabs when we are playing longer.
Really happy I went with this amp and cab!

So you're referring to the 1x12 mini-slant cabinet? I think that would be a bit large for my purposes but it sounds like a cool and flexible setup. Does Ch.2/Modern sound more like a Dual Recto through the closed cab alone? Hoping for a more aggressive sound for that channel and voicing than the combo has to offer.

Yes, the Mini-slant.
I don't use the modern mode, but did a/b running the combo or just the V30 in the slant cab and much preferred the mini slant V30.
Still my favorite is running both at the same time.

I love my combo! I initially gigged it into a 4x12 because the drummer in my band is loud, but last gig ran the combo only and still had plenty of headroom. I keep finding different sounds between all the wattage and voicing settings - it's hard to make this amp sound bad.
