Hey guys, I'm a new proud boogie owner. Do any of you all have pics of the actual mesa rectifier 3ch parallel to series mod? I called mesa and got a schematic but have not found any pics of the finished mesa series mod.

These instructions were included:
1. Lift wiper wire of send & mix pots from rear jack board
2. Lift forward end of 0ohm resistors next to snd, rtrn. jacks
3. Add jumper from mix pots empty pad to lifted end rtrn, jacks 0ohm resistor.
4. Extend send pots wiper wire to lifted end snd. jacks 0ohm resistor.

I'm just not sure which side is the forward end of resistor.

Any help will be appreciated!! I'm just so used to a series loop that my peavey jsx had.

Check this thread:

Also, the forward end would the the end that is not connected to the jack.

hey mikey, I had already gone through that thread before I posted and saw your posts, but it was never discussed which side would be the forward end.

Which would be the forward end, the 1's or 2's.

Thanks for your help mike

Without having the amp in front of me, I really can't tell. You'll probably have to lift one end of the resistor, then use a multimeter and check for continuity to the jack. If you have continuity to the tip section of the jack, then you have the right end.

bump, any progress espboogie? any new before/after pics? dunno why someone hasnt documented this a lil better for us stupid people.

Never opened it or messed with it. I am currently selling it. Its brand new and I didn't want to void the 5 year warranty this has. I could not find enough information or pics of the actual mesa mod. My tech was also confused with the mesa directions(mainly forward end of resistor) so I didn't even give it to him to check it out. I kept searching and searching hoping somebody had pics of the actual mesa mod, but nothing.

Wow. I'd be looking for a new tech. If he's confused by a schematic, then he has no reason to be a tech. It's not that hard to someone with any sort of electronics knowledge to figure out which end is the forward end from the schematic. It would only take a few minutes with the amp to determine, also.

Where are you located? If you're anywhere nearby, I'd gladly help out.

I wouldn't sell the amp simply because of a loop issue. If you max the mix knob out, it's basically a serial loop anyway.

Hey mikey...thanks for the help offer. I told tech over phone and he was confused what I said about forward end. He said to bring it and the schematic to him but I said naw because I had thought about it and it would void warranty. I'm selling because I dig my JSX better for the songs we currently play. We are not playing too much metal. Mainly a vast array of music. I'm not selling just because I couldn't mod it.
