Recto Preamp vs ENGL E570 SE Preamp

ENGL is a sick amp indeed, thats why I'm getting their Powerball.

The recto pre may not be able to achieve that sound, but I think that recto pre can mimick the sound with more clarity. Although that sound clip sounds "heavy," it also sounds a bit muddy. You can't really "taste," so to speak the crunch of the distortion.

Yeah... I've heard that engl preamp somewere and that time I tought if I didn't buy a recto pre then maybe I bought this one. It's sound huge of course but it's another style.

Tube screamer or your favorite boost in front and a parametric EQ in the loop and you are there.
ENGL sounds nice though! If they notched the gain back a bit it would sound even better.
