Hi guys

just turned on my rack gear after rehearsing last night just to find out that my recto pre is not producing any sounds.

I control the recto pre with a Y cable from my G Major to change channels,
the recto pre turns on an off as usual and changes channels but no sound.

Any HELP is welcome.

okay, easy dumb question, do you have the right level (record/live) up for whatever outs you have plugged in around back?

that happens to me way too often...

If you're certain the all levels are appropriately set you could take the covers off of the tubes in back. They just twist a bit then pull off. Then look to see if all of the tubes are glowing a bit. The problem is that they're in a little pocket where it's difficult to see, so I'm not sure this will work. You can do this in a dark room anyways.

Also as CoG suggests, the cables could have pulled out a bit and are not making contact. You should reinsert them to be sure.

Everything seems to be in the right order. Cables , tubes, levels, etc.

The Funny thing is that i was playing the night before this event and no one touched my rig.

have you tried both the record and live outs?

if you're getting no sound at all of any kind the problem is probably either right at the front of the signal chain (i.e., input jack) or right at the end...

+1 on looking for dead tubes, obviously.

Bad input cable? Put in a new one and touch the other end tip, see if that makes sound. Then go from there to the outputs. Check every level control, etc. And yeah, look for dead tubes. How long was it since you last changed them?
