Anyone tried this?

I have a Triple Recto A/B/Y with a TA-15, which sounds fantastic. But I may have a chance to get my hands on a JCM 800 for a good deal, and the thought of a JCM 800 and Triple Recto singing together is just... yeah.

Anyone ever try it? Did it lead to a fuller sound or more like two amps trying to stomp on each other?

Edit: Oh and the 800 would be a 2203 model.

Actually, to answer my own question...

I wound up getting a good deal on an Orange Tiny Terror so I'm A/B/Y-ing that with the Recto. Each sounds great on their own. Throttle back the gain a little on each and Y them together... pretty **** brutal. :D

Ran something similar about a decade ago with a mark iv and a tremoverb... only had both amps together for a week or so but to this day that might be the most brutal combination of high gain ever

i currently run my dual rec with my dean markley 120(which is modeled after the 2203 jcm 800 master vol) and get a great crunch sound with the eq dialed in right.

We use a Dual Rec and a Marshall JMP 2203(earlier version of JCM800) in LaSanche. I really like the combination. The only problem is that the Marshall tends to kick the Mesa in the butt in the mids department. Especially in a live context, My amp has to be turned up a lot more than what the Marshall needs to be. Then again, that is two guitarists. I would really like to see what one rig set up blending the two perfectly would sound like. I bet its crushing.

Any mid punchy amp plays well with a recto. It is a riff chugging machine. Ran a 5153, DSL100, and MKIIC at different times with one.

One of the best companion amps ever IMO. And a boosted recto is crazy...

Love the Mesa gear. It has a strong identity. You know what you are getting with the classic Mesa amps. Durable predictable kick *** tone.

Loop EQ is your friend to get a tone shift for leads.
