I use a Marshall MF400 cab with my Mark IV and the low end will kill wildlife and vegetation within a 100 yard radius if not kept in check. I couldn't imagine what a recto plugged into it would sound like. Great cabinet depending on which amp you play through it.
 
I have an older Marshall 1960A cab with greenbacks in it. I like the sound but plan to replace 2 greenbacks with V30s. I also use a Marshall 1922 (2x12) cab on the opposite side of the stage. I've wired the 2 8-ohm speakers in parallel to get a 4 ohm load. I run the 4x12 at four ohms (series - parallel). I'll try Tremoverbs suggestion regarding the rewiring of the jack sockets on the 4x12. It definitely makes sense. Thanks for the tip, Tremoverb!
