How sounding rectifier preamp record out to mix console?
Any sound clips?

Sombady have some rectifier preamp sound clips recordind direct to mix console?

clean is ok. dist sucks major ass (compared to the real thing of course).

it is possible to get good results, but micing an amp is definitely the better way.
to be honest, even a pod's recto simulation sounds more real than the recto pre direct.

here's the best result i ever got out of it:
(just as a pre-production, would never use it on a real production)

(only the added dist tracks in the chorusses, though...clean and the other dist in bridges etc is a blackmore)

Cool songs mate 8)

Guitar tones don't sound too bad to me - considering that they've been recorded direct. Maybe a good tech could EQ them to perfection, but then, I agree with you, it'd be way easier to just mic up the darn real thing :)

thanks...they're already eq'ed to death ;)
don't want to sound arrogant, but i'm a producer/audio engineer myself, so i can pretty much say that's the best you can get out of the direct recorded pre.

I'll have to find somewhere to get some clips up.
Not that the guitar is bad in those clips but I have gotten really nice tones out of the recto pre running direct and even better through a 20/20 power amp into a cab. Certainly much better then a POD.

it seems to me that, as happens with my studio pre, using the recording outputs makes the tone too juicier/smoother and less aggressive. You loose some attack too...

don't get me wrong, the recto pre is awsome! it's just, that you can't beat a miced cab and i'd never spend that much only for the direct option...
it's a great live-pre though.

here you can listen to it how it sounds miced:

Very nice clip!
Thats closer to the tone that I get from the Recto Pre.(through a power amp)not direct.

i have never been a fan of direct recording and although your sound clips of the recto pre are good they are missing the best of what a cabinet with a mic in front of it brings. i will always mic through a cabinet for my distorted sounds.
