Rectifier preamp tube tasks?

As the relatively new owner of relatively used Studio & Recto Recording preamps, I've been thinking about trying some tube swaps with some newer 12AX7's I've got around the studio.

Question... does anybody have a reference that explains what all the tubes in the Studio pre do? How about the Recto pre?

I think every other Mesa I've owned has explaned the tube tasks in the manuals, but couldn't find it for these two models.
