Rectifier Pre with 2:90

HI, I recently bought a recto preamp (for a great price) and Have it in a rack setup with my .50 caliber + and use the .50 cal as a power amp right now, and It sounds quite good. But It doesn't have the thump and punch of a 100 watt power amp. I was wondering if a recto preamp sounds good through a 2:90, I also would want to buy one for my .50 cal for some cool tones. I can find 2:90's on my local craigslist for 450$ so thats a big bonus why I would want to buy one. Has anyone tried the recto preamp with a 2:90? how does it sound?

I ran this setup a few years ago and found it rather dark. Even with the modern and deep modes on with the 2:90, I preferred the 2:50's overall tone with that preamp.

I recently bought recto pre and tried to run it through 2:90 and a 4x12 cab - sounds awesome. Super cleans and punchy overdrive. I really enjoy this setup. If you really can get a 2:90 for $450-500, I would say buy it and give it a try.

The cab is manufactured by a Russian company. They make cabs close to Mesa specs. The speakers are Celestion Vintage 30, 60 watt each.
