I have been reading up on this forum on the various Rectifier revisions, read that the G revision was supposed to be the "darkest" one, and the earlier ones were brighter and whatnot. The new Reborn sounded very nice and rather brighter than I expected when I tried one.

I have two questions:

- I did read up on the various Recto revisions, but could anyone give me a crash course on the tonal differences (and any feature stuff they had changed) between revisions C through G? Or D through G?

- I know Wikipedia should be taken with a grain of salt, but I found this:

This new revision attempted to capture the tone of the legendary Pre-500 amplifiers, while making the Orange and Red channels duplicates of each other for improved flexibility

Any truth to this?

Best thread I've found on the subject.

I further went on to mod my 2 ch triple to "pre 500" specs. http://forum.grailtone.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=58838
I can tell you so far that from comparing clips I've recorded to clips recorded of revision C's the mod is the real deal!
My triple sounds exactly like a revision C

This question comes up at least once a month.

Is there really nobody on this board around NYC that knows how to put up a website? I have all the data just sitting here in files.

I would have volunteered but I figured that others would have done it already.

How much data are we talking about? I'm out of town right now but I can look at putting a website up in a week or so.

I read that thread and it's a good read. My first question was a bit off, since I forgot the tonal differences are mentioned.

Still don't know about the Reborn though. Guess it's probably based on a Rev C, with improved cleans?

I actually work for a web hosting company. Would be up for helping out this project.

More likely that Mesa saw the market was moving in the direction of brighter and tighter guitar tones and tweaked the tone to suit it's customers tastes. Any similarity with previous Rectos is likely coincidental.
