Hello and happy holidays, this is my first post. :) I am in the market to purchase a used single rectifier. There is one that I am interested in that is local, but the guy says that the footswitch is broken. Is this something fairly common, or could it be a problem internally within the amp? I know a repair guy that fixes things for me for practically nothing, it may just be a bad connection within the switch. Or I could always buy a new switch...

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated.

BTW: The amp is listed on CL, SF Bay Area for $850.

Thanks!
Chuck

I bought one of these amps just recently and I never knew 50 watts could be so loud. It's a great amp with killer sounds so if I were you I'd get it for sure and deal with the switch problem later. If you have a friend who can fix things for you then all the better.

That's tought to say because they are a 5 pin din footswitch so it could be internal. The footswitches themselves inside are relatively simple. It may be just a loose solder connection within the footswitch itself and easy to fix. I guess it all depends on how bad your GAS is. I'd ask the guy if other footswitches have worked with it and if yes, ask him to come down since you'll want a working footswitch.

I've being seing Singles for $750 lately in my area.

Thanks so much for the feedback, sorry I didn't respond back until now.

I passed on the amp. I played a Rectoverb previously and loved the sounds at low volume, but I was not into the clean channel of the Rectifier at louder levels. I need to do some more research before I figure out what I want... I just sold my Marshall TSL because I hated the crunch & lead channels, but the clean channel was great.
