I'm trying to figure out how to record my triple recto without a mic. I want to be able to run it into a sampler or my mac. Not trying to get studio quality recordings, just something halfway acceptable that I can use for working out songs. The three thoughts I had are: 1] Use the slave out. 2] Use the effects send. 3] Use the right output of my boss multi effects unit. Any of these would be ran directly into the sampler/computer. Any problems with any of these ideas? Any other good ideas? Cant afford any recording gear right now so I just want a way to put stuff down for the time being that doesn't sound too horrible. Thanks...

At night when the wife and daughter are in bed, I run my effects send on my Road King to a Digitech RP250. on the RP250 there is a push to make button that can be set to mixer or amp. When set to mixer it sort of attenuates some of the frequencies (the real high ones) to act as sort of a speaker simulator. It sounds real good. Not SM57 against the cab good, but very workable. It has the stereo out which I run left and right into my mixer with a touch of reverb.

I assume you boss has the same sort of functionality where you can tell it to be set up as running into an amp or mixing board and running the stereo out. It won't sound as good as a miced cab, but as long as you can accept that you will probably be pleased with the results.
