I would appreciate it if you guys could explain to me step by step how to set up a Mark IV or V running through a M-Audio into Logic using the silent recording or whatever it's called. Obviously it still needs to be plugged into the cab but I'm just curious how this works exactly. Thanks.
 
The Mark V doesn't have a silent recording out. What I do is run through a Radial JDX DI (which has a built-in speaker simulator), and from there to a Hot Plate set to "Load". XLR cable from the DI to the audio interface. You COULD use the slave out, which is not speaker-compensated and would need a cabinet emulator after it (Logic has quite a few), but as noted you would need a speaker or load on the output of the amp.
