Hey guys!!!!!!!!!!!! Man I am so excited to send you what came to me and thousands of Recording magazine’s subscribers yesterday! The magazine has a monthly column called “reader’s tapes” where folks submit songs for review from their studios…..they are reviewed by long time professional’s in the industry for their sonic quality and overall quality of the song. I have wanted to send a song to this magazine for over 15 years and never had the courage for fear they would “burst my bubble” so to speak. Much to my surprise (no pun intended) not only did they review my submission but it has become the featured artist of the month spotlight for May. Needless to say I am on cloud nine and nearly speechless. I could not be any happier or proud and I had to share it with some of my musical buddies on this board! Hope you enjoy.

click here for the article and a link to hear the song they reviewed. it's called "my surprise".

Yeah man nothing to burst your bubble with there! Sounds great and congrats. How big of a an impact does the finalizer make? I have been looking at it for my own band cause our mastering situation isn't the greatest.

thanks guys for the kind words.....to answer your question about the finalizer.....it has probably made the biggest difference in the final quality of my mixes than any other piece of gear. now keep in mind that all of the gear is tied together....meaning that if you use pitiful mics, bad guitar sounds etc....the finalizer cant really fix any of that....but if you send it a good sounding song and just need that final "uump" to get it over the top and llow it to compete with radio ready songs then the finalizer is an absolute must to own.

its an extremely touchy piece of gear....and ironically i would compare it to owning a boogie amp.....all of the tone controls are interactive....boosting or cutting something affects more than just area you think....small subtle changes can make huge sonic differences in the mix.

but like a boogie amp...one you get comfortable with it then its awesome and becomes something that you can very naturally handle and control.

Wow, thanks for the reply man. So it sounds like it's all that TC cracks it up to be. I definetly get the whole the your best possible quality is your weakest link thing. That's the thing, the weakest link is taking our stuff and throwing it through my computer with WaveLab Essential and some free VST's. I'd still use Wavelab for the fades, burning, and all that stuff but I'd like to give it an already "robust" file.

Didn't mean to hijack your excitement on tech stuff but thanks again!

Great playing, geat songwriting, great producing, well done!! :D

glad to hear a solo that dont have a single arpeggio on it and a song that's actually sung!!

love the bass line on the quieter parts. the vocals on that parts also remind me a lot of La Brie's singing.

all in all, excellent work 8)
