We are going to start gigging pretty regularly in the next month for the first time since I've acquired a Mark V and Traditional Rec Cab. i really dont want either to get all scratched up and beat to hell so I want to get some cases. I'd like to keep it as affordable as possible, but I dont want to buy crap either. What do you guys recommend?

Congrats on getting yourself out there again!!!

I'm using a EWI roadcase for my combo. I only gig around town, 1 hour drive at the most, but I thoroughly trust this case when I'm enjoying bands before and after our set. I've had beer spilled on it plus drunks and punks run into it without worry.

It's heavy though, 108 pounds total with amp in it. The combo fits perfectly and even though it's heavy, the weight is distributed nicely enough where is actually easy to load in/out solo.

Not sure if they have a case for the head but it's worth checking 'em out.

the Case Guys on Ebay. The made a custom live in head case for my mark V. One of the best road cases I have owned! http://stores.ebay.com/The-Safe-Case Call them up on the phone sometimes you can get better deals over the phone then buying it on ebay.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. After much deliberation, research and online browsing, I went with a couple cases I found on ebay.

For The Marv V - http://www.ebay.com/itm/AMP-HEAD-AT...-SELLOUT-ID-24-1-4-x12-x10-High-/251048639637

For The Traditional Rectifier Slant 4x12 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/MARSHALL-SPEAKER-BOTTOM-412-4X12-SPEAKER-CABINET-ATA-CASE-/370590784664

Im sure they arent the best cases out there and both of the ones you guys mentioned looked to be higher quality, but I think these will do the trick for local gigs a couple times a month. They are definitely a step up from the slip covers and were pretty inexpensive as you can see. I dont think the wife would let me get away with much more right now, lol. Neither are made for my Mesa gear but the dimesions listed should work out fine. The cabinet case actually should be dead on. The case for the V might be an inch or so too wide, but that shouldnt be a big deal and I can shim it with some foam if need be. They are carpet lined. I know foam is better, but so is not having to sleep on the couch because you spent too much $$ on gear....

They are supposedly 2 separate companies but both come from Holbrook, NY so they must operate under different names. Ive seen mixed reviews, but as long as they arent total pieces of crap that dont fit together right or are of EXTREMELY low quality, they should be fine. Neither arehe bottom of the line modelsthat the company sells.
