Hey! How goes it?

I have a mark v and I am running a carbon copy in the fx loop. However, I notice that the tone sounds flatter and has less bright/treble when the cc is in use. Would ehx have better delays that do not suck tone? THanks!

Most of my experience is with Rectifiers...

Tried with Mk V
MXR CC - Sucked
Boss DD3 - Worked fine.
Fulltone TTE - Worked fine.

Tried with Recto
Boss DD-3 - Worked alright.
Boss DD-20 - Worked alright.
EHX Stereo Memory Man (the old school big box type with the attached power cord) - That worked well too.
Maxon AD999 also worked well if memory serves me correctly.

My Nova System sounds a little odd but I have a BBE Two Timer which sounds great and you can select two different delay times which makes everything better.

Eventide Time Factor and TC Nova Delay both have worked excellent with the V, Deuce II, ED, Roadster...

Those do not work well with my wallet though, haha. Thanks!

TC Nova Delay is what I'm currently using with my Mark V and it's worth saving for...

Don't laugh, but I like my Vox Satriani Time Machine. Surprisingly, not made in China. Made in Japan.

So these delays really do not lessen the volume level or soften the tone when used?

I have been messing with the fx loop knob to see if I can control the volume drop but to no avail.

Does anyone use memory toy, boy, or man with their mark V?

I've used a Deluxe MM, it get's overloaded pretty easy in the loop and of course isn't much good out front. Not a big fan for everyday playing, but if i'm in the mood it's fun.

Do you experience volume loss and tone loss? Thanks!

In my experience you've gotta have the FX send on the Mark V to be near noon otherwise you get tone loss. The trick with the Memory man is to keep the FX send a little lower than noon then limit the level knob on the MM. It's not perfect but it works.

No volume loss, but of course the tone gets a bit more noisy.

I am using a keeley compressor in front of my V. Could that also contribut to the volume drops?

Take it out of line and see! It's possible.

I've been playing that EH dMM for a bit today. It's sounding great! The key is getting the levels right.

i will, but even if it is a problem, i will keep using it because it really makes those notes sing.

Can't speak for the Mark, but I'm using a Carbon Copy as well as a DD-3, and they both sound great. Actually, I prefer the CC, because it does "warm" the sound a little.
I used a Deluxe Memory Man for a while, and yeah, I do remember having problems with levels, overloads, etc....Overall, a great sounding pedal, though.

IMO the loop even being on takes a little away, then putting in a delay will take just a tad away, you have to balance the loop level like another poster noted. I have a Time Factor and it is good but not perfect. Also run a compressor at times, Barber Tone Press, it can lower the level if I have it dialed back, may want to check the output levels of your pedals, switching on and off to set. If I must have loop effects, I just set it right with the loop engaged and forget about any tone loss. It is a write off. Get the loop sound right and then have an eq pedal with a little level boost, MXR , for leads on amps with no Solo Boost like on the MKV and rock on. When the drunk hot chics are grind dancing each other, not much of the attention will be on your 2% tone loss thru the loop anyway

I run a keeley compressor in front of my mark. I guess that solo button on the footswitch will come in handy.

I just got the hardwire dl-8 this weekend and so far it's been what I was looking for;
that is musically brighter, not sterile sounding, 100% wet reverse, good slapback,
smaller foot print and no wall wart. The looper is basic but the tap tempo is a *****.
Just gotta make sure I set it up before the tune starts....hehe. I haven't played it with
the band yet though but I think it'll be cool.

I've tried two other delays with the mark v so far. A DD-5 that I've had for years but
I think it's too sterile with the V. I also have a EHX stereo memory man and even though
it's digital it's a little on the dark and subdued side. I'm not using all the "trippy" stuff
and the footprint and wall wart were making it more work than worth for me.

Good luck finding yours!!! :D

Thanks! Btw, I thought the memory man was anoalog. I also thought that would be a sweet delay to use with the V, maybe not.
