Update: I might consider a straight trade with a US/Canadian boarder for a Solo Rec head in great condition. Not looking to do a US sale.

I really like it in theory, but when I bought it a couple of years back, I was planning on getting a serious home studio setup going and doing sort of a one-man version of Agalloch, but instead I'm in a stoner metal band (where the other guitarist has a Roadster) and also backing a sort of Wilco-ish singer/songwriter. I'm doing very little home recording and have a Palmer PGA-04 if I want to.

So, seeing if anyone out there wants to put it to better use than me.

It's a Recto. Nickelback, Theory of a Deadman, Three Days Grace, Evanescence etc. all come stock. If you want tr00 br00talz you will need a boost pedal, an EQ, and a cab simulator, or a big power amp, a 4x12, and a sh!tload of volume, just like you do with the full amp. The cleans are great, same circuit as a Roadster, RKII or Lonestar. Humbuckers into Brit mode gives you awesome classic rock or indie/alternative tones.

I have done one "mod" on it; it has tiny red glass beads glued into the marker dots on the knobs, so you can actually see what they are set at. It's done very cleanly and is a subtle, cool effect as well as being useful (unless, as I have had pointed out to me, you're red/green colourblind.)

It was repaired earlier this year (under warranty) by an authorized shop (the Yorkville depot in Toronto) to replace the Live Out pot that occasionally goes funky in these. The replacement part was an upgraded pot direct from Mesa that addresses this issue.

There are still 3 years of warranty left; this will be transferred to you.

Bump-- I should mention that I might consider trades or part trades for non-high-gain, "clean and loud" heads; the MkIII clean tones just never quite work for me. I have always been curious about Ampeg, 70s Fenders like the Bandmaster, and I would give you a real good trade on a Roland JC-77 or JC-120 if it's been converted to a head.

Still available. Only Mesa trade I would be interested in is a IIB or a Solo Rec.
