hey guys, does any of you is able to hear the radio through your amp??? i used to get it on my bro's peavey bass amp. but now i get it in mine... and its driving me insane!! everytime i stop playing i hear radio, even after i turn the volume on the guitar, i've tried with no effects on or the effects loop and i still get radio..... plzzzz help me get rid of this radio (which feels the radio station is lost in time and somehow it comes out through my amp)
i also think it might causing the amp to be noisier than usual....
help...

hmm i run all planet waves, except for one. i'll try that. but when i used to get on my bro's bass amp i was only using planet waves and i was still getting it. maybe the guitar? but i have 2 and i still get radio with both...

Poorly shielded guitars will do that too.

Or, if you have your guitar cable partially wrapped up, it can still pick up radio even if it's shielded good.

Check the guitars shielding and wiring as well as your cables. Make sure you are using an instrument cable and not a speaker cable to connect your guitar. Speaker cables are not shielded at all. If the guitar and cables check out ok, it may be an issue with the amp. Also, make sure that your amp is properly grounded.

Get a power strip, one with RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) filtering. They're extremely common. It could still be the house/room wiring, 'specially if it's an older home.
If you have really old wireless telephones get rid of 'em. Buy phones that operate in the 900-MHz or 2.7-GHz band using Digital Spread Spectrum (DSS) technology.

thanks guys, i believe its the guitar, i moved around the room i got "better" signal closer to the windows lol. the funny thing is that the radio keept on changing languages... spanish, to chinese, to english... OMG too funnny.. xD

That happened at an outdoor concert I went to once. A guy playing guitar on stage had the mariachi channel blaring so loud through his amp that he was laughing too hard to play. The band took 5 and someone fixed it and the show went on.

A Power conditioner is good for this as well and convenient for plugging other stuff in...rack gear, pedal boards etc. I used to get this too (evangelical christian broadcasts...maybe God's way of saying turn it down the wife is getting pissed! :D ) and it quit after I bought the basic Furman. Cost about 60 bucks and worth every penny.

It also provides a constant 110 v supply going to the amp.
