dude you got to tell us what equipments did you use,how did you use them ?
come on give cheese to the mice

Do you mean recording equipment ?
I recorded using an SM57 into a Delta 44 sound card, into Ardour running on Linux. For everything except channel 4, I used a Maxon compressor before the amp. At one point in the chan 4 sample, I switch on the Digitech ToneDriver (tube screamer) pedal.

I do use a Boss DD-20 digital delay in the serial A loop, but I had it turned down low for the recording.

The clip gives a quick sample of four channels, speaker and output tube comparisons. Hope that helps.

This is exactly the type of comparison that needs to be done around here. Great job! It sounds like the MC90 wasn't mic'd so close to the speaker (sounds very open). What type of mic'ing methods did you employ for both speakers? Great playing and great tone! (except for the 7 string I didn't care for that too much)

The 6L6 vs EL34 was so subtle it almost seems not worth the extra dough for the RK.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks for the feedback. I put the SM57 about 12 inches out pointing straight at the cab between the two speakers. I usually mic closer off at an angle. I was lazy and didn't want to move the mic around.

I need more time to learn this amp and all of its setting, so don't write off the power tube switching based on my clip. Maybe I should have used spongy mode.

I don't know if you changed settings between switching from 6L6 to EL but I would rather hear the direct differences like you showed rather than you re EQing the channels or changing other settings to benefit each tube type.

I think your mic technique worked out well for this purpose because you didn't optimalize it for either speaker as it was kinda just "there." Maybe a condenser in the room would work well for this as well.
