Hey guys, didnt you prefer the petruccis tone in g3 live in tokyo? I mean, it really sounded good! but no marks where in his rig :? do you think that the lead sound can be achieved with the MKV? I like my lead tone by now, but geting something like that would be an improvement at least for my ears lol (of course tone is in the fingers, but theres something else there..)

cheerS!

those were RoadKings and thought they sounded FAT. different tone from a Mark series

I know, there is a road king and a dual rec I guess..but isnt a road king a rec sound? I know they are way too different with the MK series, but maybe get closer to that wouldnt hurt anyone

Honestly, the only tone i care achieving thats Petrucci's is from LTE, because he was using his Mark IIc+ and honestly, one of the best guitar tones I've ever heard.

I'm almost positive he used a triaxis on both Cds. If you look in the cd booklet of LTE2 his rack is shown with a 2:90, triaxis and either a formula or studio preamp.

we are talking about leads..and hes LTE tone was great! but it isnt close to the g3 tone, this one is more smooth, fat and round..its not heavy..I think he could had the gain at noon, or a little more (glasgow kiss) but of course, I dont know if the sound is edited lol
