Question About Volume of Channels Mesa Rectoverb 50

I recently bought a used Mesa Rectoverb 50w 1x12 combo. I noticed the Modern mode on channel 2 is much louder at the same settings than the raw and vintage modes. Has anybody else experienced this? I'm just making sure there is nothing wrong with the amp since it was used. I'm not sure of the age but it is a series 2 and the serial number is in the format of R50-06xxx. Any input would be awesome. Also I noticed that he presence knob when using the vintage mode is almost like a top boost where it doesn't do anything until the knob is at 5:00.

Thanks for the link. I've owned a couple other tube amps both large and not so large. One of my old rigs was a Digitech 2101 into a Marshall 9200. The last one I had was the Orange Dark Terror which I could get some good sounds out of. I'm really digging the Rectoverb and am thinking of picking up a hot plate to accompany it since it is deceivingly loud.

Everything is alright. I have R50-021xx. You have to remember the mode switches are just that, and not channel selectors. On mine I set it and forget it. At first I thought "wow, five channels", but nope, just two. But they both can kick ass in there own way. Spend some serious time with it and get to know it.
