Just purchased a used Mark IV combo and still getting it "dialed in". Is it normal that when I switch from full power to tweed power the volume gradually falls - i.e. initially it's the same and then it gradually falls so that I have to turn the master volume dial from around 2 to 4 in order to achieve the same playing volume?

Also it seems that there is a very slight break-up on the clean channel when I strum hard on the tweed setting but not on full power - is this normal?

Thanks!

yes to both... it's normal, and intended to be that way.

Here's the Mark IV Manual:
