I'm loving my new MV25, but I'm having an issue when trying to record direct through the XLR out on the cabclone. I'm using an Alesis iO2 interface and cubase LE 5. I'm using the XLR from the cabclone to the XLR mic input in the Alesis. What is happening is that my input level/gain is always too loud and clipping in cubase. Turning down the amps master, or the input gain on the interface does very little.

So I read in the MV25 manual that the EQ sliders can cause clipping in extreme setting...maybe that is the issue? Maybe I'm boosting bass and treble way too much?

I am using the cabclone in the MV25, and the signal level comes out pretty high, regardless of EQ and despite a fairly low master setting.

I run into a small board with input gain, and it is set pretty low, so I don't have a problem with clipping it.

Can you set your mic input to line level via some sort of switch?

I have two options at this point I can try. I can use an XLR to 1/4" cable and connect to the line level input on the interface and see if that helps. Or, I can try to reduce the input levels within cubase to reduce the signal from the interface to cubase.

Through the headphones on the interface, everything sounds perfect and I'm not clipping according to the interface. I clip somewhere between the interface and cubase.

I was having a similar problem with a Mark V.
I had to make sure that the fx send knob is at noon (but I don't think you have that on the MV25, right?).
Also set any gain on the interface all the way down, same thing if you go live on a PA. The signal coming out of the Cabclone has tons of gain

So it sounds to me like I've just really got a hot signal going into cubase. I don't have any clipping on the meter on the interface, and the sound through the interface alone is PERFECT. Maybe I can just adjust the input gain down in the cubase software.
