Hi all, I thought I would ask before doing anything stupid.

If I plug my 8 Ohm cabin into a 4 Ohm output, will this harm either the head or the cabin in any way? Also, what will happen? I imagine it should lessen the volume somewhat, which is what I'm after. I play at home in a flat, and I would like some more scope for the volume adjustment. Now, with the cabin plugged into the 8 Ohm output, when I raise the volume above the minimum good playing level, there's a threshold and it jumps above the neighbour-disturbing level - not easy to adjust it just so.

Thanks in advance!

nothing will happen to the amp if you mismatch the impendance that way...look at the manual...

soundwise, you should lose some volume and maybe treble, but I didn't notice a big difference...
if you need less volume, buy a speaker with less sensitivity like celestion greenback etc.
