Question about a mark IV headshell

My friend owes me a favor and he is in the advanced wood shop class and I asked him to build me a head shell for my mark IV chassis. It's a widebody combo right now, but I want it in head form. Would this be safe or should I just leave it as a combo? I already took the speaker out because it was so heavy and put it into a different cab, but I guess I'm just asking if a custom built headshell would be a viable option. Thanks.
