I know, I know.. but I don't have the funds for bass amp right now but can borrow electric bass guitar and was wondering if it would be worth trying. If yes, will I need some transformer box or something in front of the Quad or can the bass go directly into it just like the guitar?

thanks

if i remember correctly...you can use a bass into a guitar amp just fine. but not a bass with a guitar CAB. guitar speakers probably wont handle the extra low tones made by a bass.

The amp won't have any problem with it, just make sure you are playing it through bass speakers (or that you keep the volume and bass down). I plugged my bass into my Studio one day and played it through the power section of a Kustom solid-state combo and I got bitchin tones--so much so that I would seriously consider replacing my Ampeg SVT-II with my current guitar setup (Studio Pre + Simul 395). I bet your setup through a bass cab would sound awesome.
