So I finally received in the mail an original unused quad footswitch cable for my FU2 pedal. I have owned the quad for about 3 weeks now and I have been using a single button Ibanez pedal to operate the channels"borrowed from a friend." Well I hooked up the cable from the pedal to the amp, powered on the amp, and Nothing happens. The pedal doe not light up, the preamp does not light up and when I press the buttons on the pedal nothing happens. I really don't know where the problem could be, cable, pedal, or preamp.. Has anyone experienced any problems like this? And what could I do to go about resolving or narrowing down the problem?

The Channels do work when I use the single button footswitch to each of them.
The Cable does appear in great condition, and has Quad printed on it. The standard 30ft.
I scuffed slightly the pins on the back of the pedal, just to see if it was a connectivity issue, I don't know if I did a well enough job at this but I still get nothing.

Anyway, any input would greatly be appreciated, I was trying not to buy a midimate pedal I could only imagine Mesa/Boogies repair bill being more than the cost of one.

I use a Midi Octopus by RockMan for the channel switching on my quad.
I would probably suspect its a bad footswitch connection in the preamp therefore not working, but im no expert.
Get your self a midi footswitch probably could find a decent one on ebay for 20-60 bucks.

Sounds like the 7406 is ok if it switches using the 3.5 jacks... have a look at the connections in the footswitch - when I bought mine they were screwed, it's made of ply as well as steel, so can easily suffer from moisture

Good Luck

Pedal was looked over by an board repair technician, not a mesa repair guy. He resoldered two of the loose switches. Still no functionality and it is starting to become irritating. The nearest mesa repair shop is about 3 hours away at Myrtle Beach.

there is a switch on the back of the quad that turns the foot switch on/off did you try that ??? it switches between midi and the fu-2...yours maybe turned to midi ..flip the switch...
