Hi guys

Just got myself a new pianoblack prs singlecut 250 and am still getting used to it. The question that keeps creeping up is. Do you think that PRS may be a little overrated ?

i dont think so, yeah their expensive, but its hard to find a bad one. unlike gibson whos guitars are often around the same price. i dont think i would pay new prices for a prs, but i do pay used prices, and they are my guitar of choice

yeah they are overrated. they are great guitars but super expensive. i spent about $1000 less for an ebmm and its a better guitar than any prs ive touched so it was an easy choice. i was actually going to buy a prs but while they were pulling it off the shelf i picked up a jp6. prs does make stunningly attractive guitars though. im a fan

Well I've had the prs for about a week now and I'm starting to really like it. It's neck is a little wider than my esp so it's harder to do fast runs but there is some mojo in the prs that makes it kind of special. It has become my go to guitar and the esp is secondary.

I like the ebmm guitars alot and one them is a must for me once I have the cash.

I have only tried the silhoette's and the steve morse model and they are stunning. I'm curious about the jp6 tho.

What is the difference between the stock silhoette's and the jp model ?

I think most guitars are overpriced.

PRS makes great stuff...overrated? I guess that depends on what ratings you are going by. To me they are one of the top big makers out there are are settled into their position just fine.

The DGT model is amazing....one of the best guitars out there today.

I have had my Custom 24 for about a week now, and for 'sport' I played my guitars back to back to back.

I can say that the wide-thin neck on that guitar is by far one of the best necks I have ever played...it fits my hands very well.

The guitar has a great tone, and the HFS pickup is incredible...chunky but with a lot of clarity.

Is it "worth" the price they ask??? I am not sure yet.

Am I enjoying it....VERY much!

Well........

After much deliberation and playing I've come to the conclusion that the PRS is not for me.

It's a very nice instrument and well built with top notch quality but I think it's not worth the asking price. I was supposed to pay 2500 usd and well I just got myself another ESP Horizon for 1500 usd instead. For my fingers and ears the ESP suits me better.

Don't want to be bashing PRS but the wide fat neck was just to much for my hand and fingers. I will probably get myself another PRS sometime in the future but then it will be built to my liking and with the bird inlays 'n all.

That kinda bothered me with the single cut. No birds.

I've got two prs guitars, and think they are fantastic- great tone, great feel, great aesthetics. I bought them used, and think they are good value used because most prs used guitars (from my experience) have been well cared for by their previous owners. Plus, my prs guitars convinced my girlfriend that she wanted to play guitar, and she insisted on buying a prs too!

I wouldn't say so....I believe them to be outstanding guitars....I own 3, and chances are that's not the end of it.

yeah 2500 is quite a bit for a non 10 top non birds, should have been like 500-600 less i would think
