Proud Papa's New Daughter

Howdy Everyone -

I'm proud to say that my new daughter, Shanti Opal, was born Friday night (11/17). 7 lb., 15 oz., and 21" long.

Her birth was amazing!!! She arrived unexpectedly fast (couple hours labor and less than ten minutes pushing), and she and Mom are both feeling fantastic. Though she came out like a racecar driver, so far she's (mostly) living up to her name, which means "peace."

Her four-year-old sister, Skyla, is over the moon with excitement, and we're all enjoying some sleepy family time.

Hey, I just figured out a cheap way to get all the strangers around you to treat you with refreshing kindness: grab a pack of newborn diapers and wave 'em around at the checkstand - it instantly melts hearts!!

Last time I was in the East Bay was going to a concert at the "Omini".

The Omni? I haven't been there since I accompanied Gwar into the premisis. Yowza! Hey - remember the Berkeley Square? I saw lots of great acts there in the '80s (Split Enz, The Cramps, The Rain Parade, Robyn Hitchcock, Primus, and others), and didn't realize what a sh*thole it was until my band played there, several times in the '90s.

Gotta go make lunch for my napping wife. Shanti's a real sweetie.
