Problem with the single recto

Ok, so i dont use my pushed mode on the clean channel very much, but i tried it today and i noticed a horrible like clipping in and out noise. I tried moving the tubes around, even getting a new 12ax7, even cleaning the sockets with contact cleaner. Still nothing has worked. It doesnt really make the noise on the clean unless the gain is turned up....arggghh

any help please?

Do you have a better description of the problem? Is it a volume drop, popping, or gain fluctuations?
