problem with my 1st rectifier

Hi folks. I have a 3 channel dual rectifier reborn, but I'm having an issue. When running my MXR eq in the loop, when frequencies are higher levels, my rectifier clean channel starts crackling. I don't think it's the tubes because there's no squealing when tapping them and it only does it when the EQ's frequencies are raised. No crackling if EQ is bypassed either. I've noticed very slight crackling in yellow channel, but mostly in green. It's only with the EQ boost. The EQ worked fine with my previouds amp. Any help from people knowledgable about amps would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the pedal is clipping. MXRs do have quite low headroom and the Mesa loop level is quite high. Try turning down the FX Send level if the amp has one - or the channel masters if it doesn't - and turn up the Output Level to compensate.

Thanks. I was just kind of worried there was an issue with my green channel. I guess the pedal just doesn't work so well with the recto's loop.

That pedal works absolutely fine with the Recto's loop. Like was said, you just need to adjust your Send level.

Alright..let me ask this then. My model has one loop control and the manual's example has 2, so I guess I'm not sure what my dial does. Does having the dial full on mean I have the signal %100 loop with no pre amp?

You must have the wrong manual. The previous model of 3-Ch Rectos had a parallel loop with two controls, send level & mix.

The Reborn Rectos have a series loop, so there is only a send level control. The control is located directly above the FX Loop's send jack and is clearly labeled "Send Level".

The send level control is like a master volume for the FX Loop, and to simplify is placed in the circuit after the Ch Master and before the FX Send jack.

It means you are sending a rediculously hot (loud) signal thru the FX Loop and are most likely clipping anything in the loop.
