My point was that neither has an upper hand on the other it's just opinions....

....let see, the Bogner Shiva, a basic 2 channel amp, at a tune of $2600 fo r years had an unsuable effects loop for use with pedals.....then Bogner patched it up (many years later) by offering a special cable...and now today after many years it has been fixed.....though not to the standard of alot of users.

So see...flaws can also be found on the great Bogners. And hey, I happen to love the tone of the Shiva

I can agree with this, we do all have our own opinions. This is becoming a Bogner vs. Mesa thread which I don't think anyone intended. So perhaps we should let that aspect of the conversation go?

All I think a few of us are saying is Mesa's prices are starting to get a bit out of hand (They're starting to remind me of Gibson in some ways), and has started to possibly lose direction. It's starting to become enough for many of us to start looking elsewhere and if Mesa hasn't noticed yet, they should!

Just Sayin...ya can't raise prices and release products that don't live up to expectations forever and not expect something to happen.

Now that it appears I've bashed Mesa to hell, let me reiterate I love my Mark IV!

Wow. I didn't think the guy was Mesa bashing. Are we to the point where people that may not think Mesa is the holy grail are going to be shouted down?

He just said he thought the prices were getting too high and that Mesa was falling off in their innovation and quality. Ok, that's his opinion. It's not bashing.

He's right on the popping comment though. For $2000, the amp pops when switching channels? Not good.

I am not shouting anybody out and I am sorry if this is what some of you understood. Anybody can say I don't like Mesa because XYZ. And that is perfectly fine with me.

But I think that people start getting off-track when they confuse liking fo the products with company mentality.

I don't like the Recto line. Does it mean that I am bashing Mesa? Not at all. I just don't like the Rectifiers. What it makes me confused is when someone tries to explain his dislike of Mesa products by blaming them for changing their mentality from a boutique manufacturer to a production manufacturer.
That's the rational link I cannot seem to understand.

I think Mesa an be fairly categorized as a "hybrid" boutique manufacturer. They have have inherent qualities of both Production and Boutique.....

Perhaps a 70/30 split, Boutique/Production.

Hahahaha!!! This is great!! Very diplomatic! :)

Guys, I don't have your wonderful pair of ears. But I have lots of experience in manufacturing.

Anyway, 70/30% seems to be a good compromise.
