you'll get slightly different tonal variations due to the different power tubes. Hal9000 has some awesome F series clips on this site. some i believe are direct as well.

i would love to hear it. i just got my f-30 today and i'm still looking for some good sounds. this amp's great!!!!!!

Actually, if you use the record out, that signal is taken immediately before the power amp stage, so there should be no tonal difference in the headphone/record out signal between the F30, F50 or F100.

I will state that the IMHO, the headphone/record out signal is lousy by itself. I run that signal into my Line 6 Toneport, hit it with some pretty serious EQ with the 4-band parametric EQ and then one of the cabinet simulations and then I get a pretty decent tone. You can hear a clip I made like that with both clean and dirty at my Soundclick page. It's about 9 songs down called "F50 Line Out > Toneport > Ableton Lite"

is it? so if i use the record out, i'm gonna get the same sound whether its F30, F50, or F100?
You will get the same sound using the recording output because it's taken right before the phase inverter, just after the FX loop.

Thanks for the mention Benny. I like the clips too, but they aren't exactly direct from the amp. :)

ah, thats how you are doing it. did you ever think of running it to a H&k red box pro after the thd hotplate instead of usind the line 6 ? just wondering cause i was thinking of doing that.

Yup, I have thought of running a direct box with cab sim, but I don't have an XLR interface for my Behringer Ultra-G. However, I have Line6 UX2 Toneport on the way that will give me a ton of interface options so I'll be able to test the direct Ultra-G tone. I'll also get back the same kind of system I was using with XTL which has now gone to another home.

is the behinger any good ? the very name scares me. are you using the ux2 strickly as a interface ? i was thinking of getting one but friends tell me the m-audio is better. let me know what you think when you get it.

your COC clips ? is that Corosion of conformity ? they sound good. i was never a big C.O.C. fan but back in the day i bought my first boogie (.50cal+) after hearing one of there songs and learning that is what they used.
