I am interested in the new Powerhouse 1000 bass cabs. The closest dealer from here in the Orlando area is Daytona Beach. A little drive but not too far. I am unfamiliar with these and have never played through one of these as they are brand new cabs and a revolutionary design according to the ads online and in the Bassist and Bass Player mags.
My question is this: Do any of you have this cab (one 15 and four 10's) and/or what have you heard about them?? I am VERY interested and they seem like the design is fantastic. And being able to handle 1000 watts is a big plus. I have never owned Mesa products before but it may be a good time to start if these are as good as they are promoted to be. Thanks!
Looking forward to your responses. :)

Well I can't speak for the particular model you are looking at but I just picked up a M-Pulse 600 and a single 15" cab (new Design) and it's incredible that one speaker can handle what this amp is sending! So unless your pumpin' out over 1000 watts continuously, your either deaf or mentally challenged...I think it's a great choice. Good luckjavascript:emoticon(':D')

hey....don't think twice about buying the mesa powerhouse cab....just buy it. my bassist just got a used powerhouse 8x10 cab and it blows my head off. we were testing it out and it knocked a large tom off of a tabletop in the next room over! it was so deep, clean, and loud!

There are 2 sides of the coin in owning a Powerhouse 1000. I have owned the Powerhose 1000 for a little over a year and I can't say enough of how well this cabinet sounds. It can handle and produce sensational tones with serious thump. On the other side of the coin, I lug the 139 pound thing up and down my stairs every week. However, I enjoy the thing tremendously. The portability of this beast is a 2/10, but once in the middle of playing, it makes the extra effort of 10/10 tone all worth while. As long as you can transport it with a large vehicle, have a good heart and strong back, I'd recommend this cab to anyone!! Don't wait. Buy it now. This equipment is the best I've ever owned. Good luck.

I'd echo Danno's comments above, except for me I'd rate the portability a little higher. I find the handles, wheels and skid rails to be well-thought-out and durable.

I'm 6' 210 lbs and have a strong heart and back, though. :)
