I'm ready to try some new tubes...Particularly the GZ34s. Can anyone tell me what they bring to the table....vs.5U4/other rec tubes.

I just wanted to share what the eurotube description was for the GZ34s. "The JJ GZ34 will get your Deluxe sounding like a vintage amp." I hope thats not what it does, becuase that's really not what i'm looking for. Can anyone confirm this?

Tightens up the amp, and cleans up a lot of the mud! Makes the gain much more usable.....you'll LOVE them!

I have a set, in a drawer! I went back to the 5U4G's! I've yet to have reliability issues with Mesa tubes! JJ's, I'm not too sure about! I'm just anal, the rest of my tubes are Mesa's, and I hate seeing mismatched brands of tubes in one amp! :?

I'm unclear as to what you guys mean..it takes the fiz out...and it makes the distortion more usable.....does it take away from the gain?

No...makes the gain cleaner, and takes away a lot of the buzz saw sound you get with the gain.
